【报告摘要】

Recent observation of collective phenomena in small colliding systems challenged conventional criteria for Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) formation and underscored the need for transport approaches capable of describing far-from-equilibrium dynamics. In this work, we employ heavy-flavor (HF) jet tomography to probe the short-lived medium created in proton-proton collisions at LHC energies. On an event-by-event basis, HF quark pairs produced in hard scattering via PYTHIA are embedded into a color string model and interact with the surrounding medium constituents through both elastic and inelastic collisions. By analyzing the momentum modifications of charm and bottom quarks, we find that momentum damping strongly depends on the degree of medium isotropization and is dominated by the radiative energy-loss mechanism. The results are contrasted with predictions from equilibrated QGP models such as EPOS4HQ.

【报告人简介】

Dr. Daria Prokhorova obtained her PhD in Theoretical Physics from St. Petersburg State University, Russia, in 2024, with the thesis entitled "Initial configurations and fusion of colour strings as origin of collective signatures in p+p interactions at high energies". In 2025, she joined the Nuclear Theory group at Tsinghua University, Beijing. Her current work focuses on simulating heavy-flavor transport in small colliding systems using a hybrid color-string approach to study energy loss in a pre-equilibrium environment. Daria has background in data analysis at the NA61/SHINE collaboration (SPS, CERN) and simulations at the MPD experiment (NICA, JINR, Dubna), where she studied multiplicity and transverse momentum fluctuations as part of the search for the critical point of strongly interacting matter.
