【报告摘要】

The rapid advancement of multimessenger astronomy, which combines X-ray and gravitational wave observations, offers a unique and powerful opportunity to study the equation of state (EoS) of neutron stars. Spinning non-axisymmetric neutron stars (NSs) are considered promising sources of continuous gravitational waves. In this work, we investigate the detectability of accreting NSs and show that their gravitational wave signals exceed the sensitivity limits of current detectors, including the Einstein Telescope and Cosmic Explorer. This multimessenger approach enables us to use X-ray data to explore accretion processes while leveraging gravitational wave observations to probe the internal structure and properties of NSs. By examining a variety of EoS models under these constraints, we aim to provide a deeper understanding of NS physics and emphasize the future potential of multimessenger observations in advancing our knowledge of these compact objects.

【报告人简介】

李洪波,2024年获得北京大学理学博士学位,师从邵立晶研究员和徐仁新教授。目前是北京大学科维理天文与天体物理研究所博士后,合作导师是徐仁新教授。主要的研究方向为脉冲星与高能天体物理。在ApJ, MNRAS, A&A, PRD, JHEP等国际刊期上发表了24篇学术论文。主持了博后面上和自然科学基金理论物理专款项目。
