【报告摘要】

The LHCb experiment is planning a second upgrade, Upgrade II, of the detector to run during the High Luminosity phase of the LHC around 2035 and to exploit at the maximum the collisions provided by the accelerator. This will require to run at much high

luminosity than the one the detector runs with currently. I will present the physics program of the upgraded experiment, for heavy flavour physics and beyond. Running at such high luminosity is a challenge for which new technologies must be

developed for the various detectors. I will show the current status of the R&D for them. Since very large amount of data will be produced during the Upgrade II of LHCb, new data acquisition, real time analysis and data processing techniques will also be needed. I will discuss the present ideas how to progress also in the area of software and computing.

【报告人简介】

After a PhD thesis in the BaBar experiment, I joined the LHCb experiment in 2002. I am researcher (research director) at the Paris-Saclay university, in the IJCLab laboratory in Orsay (France). I am currently deputy spokesperson of the LHCb experiement.

In parallel, I lead the developments for the readout electronics of the future electromagnetic calorimeter of the LHCb Upgrade II detector.
